At the southernmost tip of Limburg you will find a gem of a wedding venue: Château Neercanne. Between the old walls of the château and the gentle summer sun, it felt as if we were briefly in France.
The love of these lovebirds was celebrated in grand style, for which Château Neercanne lent itself perfectly.
Everything was perfect: the venue, atmosphere, the beautiful details and of course, the palpable love between the beautiful wedding couple. So timeless, so elegant. A wedding that perfectly demonstrated whi i love this beautiful profession so much.
This couple chose a timeless style with an eye for every detail. The refined flowers, the finest champagne, perfectly coordinated styling and the wonderful atmosphere throughout the day made it a wedding to never forget.

Well hidden, in a tiny village in the French Champagne region, you will find this incredibly beautiful wedding venue: Château De Mairy.
When we walked through the gate of this château for the first time, both my husband and i were totally impressed by this special place.
As a wedding photographer, i have seen quite a few wedding venues over the years, but never been as impressed as i was back then.
The owner of Château De Mairy is a furniture maker and has completely restored the chateau to its former glory. Every room and space is different, but each one is styled so beautifully. Special and unique antique furniture stands throughout the château. It feels like stepping back in time; everyting is just right and exactly as it should be.

And yes, of course i am a little but biased because Bram and i celebrated our own French wedding here in September 2024. Nevertheless, i also viewed this location through the eyes of a wedding photographer. This last time we visited Château De Mairy before we got to celebrate our wedding, i brought my camera with me to take some photos of this special venue myself.
Unfortunately, there was no wedding couple i could photograph this time, of course, but a wedding at this fantastic venue is already scheduled in my agenda. You get the idea, i can't wait!

Exactly one year later after the magical engagement in Paris that i got to capture for this lovely couple, it was time for their wedding day. In the north of The Netherlands, in Friesland, where this couple lives, they also celebrated their special day.
In the backyard of her parents' house, how special is that!? Everything was organized down to the last detail by the bride herself who happens to be a wedding planner.
The theme of this wedding was Italian. This bride and groom love to go on holiday's in Italy so this them fitted them perfectly. There was an Italian pizza truck serving fresh Neapolitan pizzas, there was Italian beer, Aperol Spritz, lots of antipasti and of course Italian ice cream.

Coincidence doesn't exist.. The evening before i made these photos, my father and i (we were in Paris together that week) met this couple, and i was able to take some fantastic photos of them around the Louvre. After the shoot, i noticed that, he in particular, was getting increasingly enthusiastic and said something like, 'but wouldn't you like to photograph us near the Eiffel Tower as well?' I had told them that i would like to do a few more shoots in Paris. That combined with 'tomorrow we celebrate our ten years of being a couple, was pretty much a no-brainer for me.
And sure enough, later that same evening i received a text message from him: 'tomorrow we are celebrating our ten years aniversary and i planned to propose to her. Maybe it would be nice to capture this?'
OH MY GOD!
The next morning, me and my dad headed towards the Eiffel tower to check out this amazing spot which i had found on Instagram.
Engagement at a summer night in Paris
Throughout the day, we stayed in touch so he knew what the plan was going to be. He gave me complete freedom in this and me and my dad were able to create a fantastic plan for them. What a dream this was!
That evening, the moment finally arrived. My father and i were positioned discreetly and via a live location tracker, we were able to see where and which direction they would be coming from. They positioned themself in the perfect spot, allowing me to walk up to them and start taking photos. That way, it was a real surprise for her. After a few 'click click click' from my camera she figured it out and recognized me and my dad, of course, haha!
Then we pretended we were just doing a cool shoot near the Eiffel Tower; i already talked about that during our first meet up, so it made sense for her. He and i agreed before that we would just do a short part of the shoot first, and i would leave the rest of the shoot up to him as to when it should happen.
And then the magical moment was there..
